H-tanshinone II-A sulphonate was given to rats intravenously. The distribution of radioactivity was the highest in liver
then spleen
kidneys and lungs
and each reached its maximum in 2 hr. after injection. The biological half-lives (t
1/2
alpha and t
1/2
beta) were 27 and 199 min respectively. Within 72 hr.
the activity was excreted 18%in the urine and 75% in the feces. By thin-layer chromatography and autoradiography of bile
urine and feces 3 spots of metabolites were found.
