Simulation of radial density of high intensity ion beams using the logarithm function controller
The Kapchinsky-Vladimirsky(K-V) beam propagation through a periodic focusing channel is studied using the particle-in-cell(PIC) code and the logarithm-function controller.The results show that the radial ion density is uniform and the ion density distribution has nothing to do with any region where the controlling information comes from.This provides a reference for detector and target material deployments in experimenting with high intensity ion beams.
