The human hair samples as standard substances were analyzed by the neutron activation analysis(NAA) on the miniature neutron source reactor. 19 elements
i.e. Al
As
Ba
Br
Ca
Cl
Cr
Co
Cu
Fe
Hg
I
Mg
Mn
Na
S
Se
V and Zn
were measured. The average content
standard deviation
relative standard deviation and the detection limit under the present research conditions were given for each element
and the results showed that the measured values of the samples were in agreement with the recommended values
which indicated that NAA can be used to analyze standard substance human hair with a relatively high accuracy.
