This paper introduces a high sensitive portable X-ray fluorescence analyzer. It is composed of a Si-PIN X-ray detector with thermo-electrical cooler
radio isotope sources and a 2048-channel MCA based on PC/104 computer. The analyzer is about 3.8 kg weight
30 cm × 28 cm × 14 cm size. The resolution (FWHM) for the 5.9 keV peak of 55Fe is less than 160 eV. The analytical detection limits are about 10μg · g-1 for Cu
Zn
As and other mineral elements. This analyzer can be used to in-situ determine multi-element concentration on natural rock
