Carbon-9 ion beam is a source with dual radiations.Compared with other heavy ions
9C ion beam has an obvious advantage in the treatment of cancer.In this paper
we perform a Monte Carlo simulation of 290 MeV/u 9C ion beam transport in water with the FLUKA code.The energy deposition
dose
distribution and fluence of nuclear fragments along the penetration depths of the 9C ions are obtained.The results are useful for dosimetry of malignant tumors treatment with 9C ion beam.
