The microbial reduction of radionuclides has received increasing attention recently because these trans- formations can play important roles for the remediation of environment contaminated by radionuclides. This review focuses on the research progress in the reduction of radionuclides including U(VI)
Np(V) and Tc(VII). The mecha- nisms of microbial reduction are discussed
the environmental impact of such transformations as well as the possible applications of these activities in the bioremediation are also evaluated.
