Background: There is no clear requirement on the rod drop performance of Control Rod Drive Mechanism(CRDM) in seismic condition.Purpose: Acceptance criteria of AP1000 CRDM seismic test need to be determined.Methods: Related regulations and the safety function of AP1000 CRDM are investigated
as well as the conclusions drawn from the CRDM seismic tests worldwide.Results: Acceptance criteria of this test should be in accordance with the limit is in AP1000 Nuclear Plant Safety Analysis Report.Conclusions: Drop time of control rods in AP1000 CRDM seismic test at the room temperature without flow is 2.7 s before and after Safe Shutdown Earthquake(SSE).
